Associate Data Manager - Full-Time

Department: Specialized Direct Services
Location: Stamford, CT

Domus is a nonprofit helping nearly 1000 young people achieve self-sufficiency through school engagement and workforce development services.

Position Overview

The Associate Data Manager has a deep understanding for how data can be used to drive decision making and improve outcomes and can independently articulate that throughout the organization. To that end, the Associate Data Manager is a critical consumer of data, seeking to understand the meaning and connections behind the information and continually growing in this capacity. Sh/e manages the Salesforce case management data platform, and supports survey development, data collection, and data analysis, and effectively communicates with staff across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

Salesforce Case Management platform – Typical time spent: 60%

  • Ensure all programs are using the system as required by their program or management reporting.
  • Build reports and dashboards with standard Salesforce reporting features (reports, dashboards, and list views). Monitor usage and produce custom reports as needed.
  • Configure custom fields, page layouts, and workflows in Domus ECM/Salesforce instance.
  • Work with supervisor to support management of a training program for super users, new staff and retraining of existing staff
  • Write documentation and policies for system users and departments.

Data Management - Typical time spent: 25%

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to data collection and analysis.
  • Identify data quality issues (inconsistencies, impossibilities, etc) and remedy data problems.
  • Clean & process data to facilitate analysis.
  • Present data in a meaningful & relevant way with some assistance from supervisor for final revisions. This may include power point presentations, written memos, or data visualizations.

Program Staff Interaction - Typical time spent: 15%

  • Conduct training for Domus staff on the data platform and demonstrates mastery of the material by answering most questions, providing context, steering conversation towards utility of data, and proactively following up after training, as needed.
  • Initiate communication with internal stakeholders to ensure their understanding of how to integrate data and information in their day-to-day work.
  • Understand and execute on broader departmental goals by leveraging understanding of data processes and workflows across the organization (family advocates, supervisors, etc) and working knowledge on relevant data sets (attendance, behavior, assessments, etc).
  • Develop effective partnership with internal teams and stakeholders.

Work Management

  • Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely and accurate manner consistently.
  • Demonstrate ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, with minimal supervision.
  • Identify issues and take responsibility for resolution and/or escalation consistently.
  • Contribute to project meetings consistently.

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 with competitive health benefits package, 403b plan and paid time off.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work will be performed inside of a Domus administrative building or alternative venue as established by the Director of Research and Evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning complex software applications required. 1-3 years’ experience administering Salesforce or another relational database.
  • Experience with data visualization.
  • Experience writing simple and complex stored procedures or willingness to learn the same
  • Advanced Excel skills or ability to write queries (eg SQL, Query Builder)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with a curiosity to learn more
  • Strong Communicator. Speaks and writes well. Can create custom documentation as needed.
  • Fast learner who is challenged by learning new things and wants to change legacy work flows. Can quickly gain the pulse of agency and how programs work to support our mission.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work well at all employee levels.
  • Ability to work in a culture shifting organization, and be a flexible thinker

Preferred:

  • ???????Salesforce System Admin
  • Experience with analytical tool, such as SAS, R, Python
